Your first visit?

Welcome to St Mark’s

We are a lively, cell based church with a passion for ‘doing’ church in a new way. Please take a look around our site and find out all about us. We would be happy to see you at any of our services and events.

Refreshments on Sunday

Refreshments are served in the café area of the church each Sunday after the 10.45am and the 2pm service. They are also served after the 10:15am service
Please come and join us – we’d love to get to know you better.
If you are new to St Mark’s the welcome team are also situated in this area and will help you find your way around.

On screen

At most services the words for notices, songs, liturgy, communion etc are all on a large screen at the front and on smaller screens on the pillars. There are printed sheets should you prefer this at the back of the church in both normal and large print.

Baskets are passed round during the service for our offering. If you are new, or visiting the church, please do not feel you have to put in to the basket.
We encourage church members to gift aid where possible (please see Carole Gedney), and also to give by direct debit through the bank. If you give by direct debit, you can take a blue card to put into the offering basket.
2 Corinthians 9:7-8
‘Each person should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver’

All welcome

At St Mark’s we try to make everyone feel at home and comfortable. There are different services at different times to suit different people/ ages and worship preferences..

In the church there are no steps into the building and therefore easy access for wheelchair users and those who struggle with steps.
The chairs in the church are not fixed and therefore can be moved to allow for wheelchair users to sit with the people they came with.
We have toilet facilities for the disabled.
There is a loop system for those who use hearing aids.
If you need any help at all on your visit please approach one of the welcome team in the extension at the front of the church.

Communion procedure

When there is communion stewards will guide people where and when to go. If there is prayer at the back rail at the same time a notice will come up on the screen with directions.

Availability of prayer

We offer prayer ministry at all our services.
If you wish to be prayed for whilst with us on a Sunday, there will be prayer ministry during communion at the back rail (a slide will come up on the screen). In non communion services prayer ministry will take place during the service as directed by the service leader.

If you would like prayer and you are not comfortable with this please let the welcome team know and they will arrange for someone to pray for you privately.
For quiet prayer there is a prayer area in the church during the week when The Source is open.
